• Real Revenue, Not Just “Potential”: They want companies *making money*. Actual dollars flowing in. Not some pie-in-the-sky “disruptive” model that burns cash faster than a server farm on Black Friday.
• Deep Tech Understanding: They don’t want founders who can just slap an LLM onto something and call it AI. They need to *understand* the underlying tech, the limitations, the data requirements – the whole shebang. Apparently “prompt engineering” isn’t a business plan. Who knew?
• Focus on Verticalization: Forget trying to boil the ocean. They want specialists tackling specific problems in specific industries. Niche is good. Broad and vague is… not.
• Data Moats are King: Unique, defensible datasets. Because everyone and their grandmother has access to GPT-4 now, so you better have something *else*.
• Capital Efficiency: Spend less money! Seriously. They’re sick of funding rounds that disappear before a prototype is even finished.
