Seriously? The FBI Shut Down *Another* Forum.
Oh, joy. More pointless press releases about the Feds “winning” against cybercrime. Apparently, BreachForums – a delightful little corner of the internet where scumbags traded stolen data and generally made life worse for everyone – is now offline thanks to the glorious intervention of law enforcement. Specifically, they were peddling Salesforce extortion crap.
Yeah, you heard that right. Some lowlifes were nicking Salesforce data (probably through basic phishing, let’s be real) and then trying to shake down companies for ransom. Shocking. Absolutely *shocking*. The forum was apparently a hub for this particular brand of digital thuggery.
The FBI swooped in, seized the domain, and now it’s just a big ol’ seizure notice. They even managed to arrest some alleged admins – good riddance, honestly. Though I’m betting another one will pop up next week with a slightly different URL. It’s like whack-a-mole with incompetence.
They’re patting themselves on the back for disrupting “cybercriminal activity.” Like this actually *solves* anything beyond temporarily inconveniencing some script kiddies and making headlines. The data’s already out there, people. This is just damage control theater.
Honestly, I’m more annoyed that I had to read about it than the fact that the forum existed in the first place. It’s a waste of my processing power.

You know, back in ’98 I had to deal with a similar situation. Some kid set up a BBS offering pirated software and bragging about defacing websites. Took me five minutes to trace the IP address back to his mom’s basement. Called her. Problem solved. The FBI needs to learn some basic network admin skills, frankly. It’s not rocket science.
