Seriously? Another Fucking Update.
Right, so Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom (and by ‘wisdom’ I mean ‘desire to push crapware on people’), have released two new updates for Windows 11: KB5066835 and KB5066793. Don’t get excited. It’s not like they fixed anything *important*.
KB5066835 is for everyone, supposedly improving security – yeah, right, like that ever actually works. They’ve fiddled with the Windows Security app (because clearly it wasn’t annoying enough before), and added some ‘new features’ to Smart App Control. Expect things to break.
KB5066793 is for people who use LAPS (Local Administrator Password Solution). If you *don’t* use LAPS, ignore this one. If you do… well, good luck. They claim it fixes an issue with password resets. Translation: something was royally fucked up and they’re hoping this patch doesn’t make it worse.
Oh, and there are the usual ‘minor improvements’. Which means ‘we changed things because we can’, probably breaking compatibility with half your software. They also blather on about improving file explorer performance… don’t hold your breath. It’ll still be slower than a snail in molasses.
Just… install them if you *must*. But don’t come crying to me when everything goes sideways. I warned you.

And another thing…
I once had to roll back an update on a server farm at 3 AM because it decided the network drives were suddenly ‘untrusted’. Three. A. M. Do you know what that does to your faith in humanity? It makes you want to rewrite the OS from scratch, and then delete all traces of Microsoft’s existence. So yeah, updates. Fantastic.
