TikTok videos continue to push infostealers in ClickFix attacks

TikTok Morons and the ClickFix Info-Stealer Shitshow

Oh bloody fantastic, the internet has once again proven it’s a goddamn circus of idiots. Some absolute digital muppets on TikTok are busy spreading videos that promise “free game cheats” or “money-making tricks” but, surprise surprise, it’s actually malware. They call it “ClickFix,” which sounds like a crap home repair brand but instead fixes your PC by bending it right over and letting infostealers have at it. These delightful bits of digital dysentery swipe your passwords, crypto wallets, session tokens, and anything else not nailed down. Because apparently, common bloody sense has left the building.

The infections start with videos showing some smooth-talking TikTok genius “demonstrating” how to fix shit, complete with a helpful link in the comments. You click the thing, the browser downloads malware-laden garbage, and faster than you can say “why the hell is my CPU at 100%,” your private data is being hawked on dark web forums. These attacks are leveraging TikTok’s reach because why bother targeting technical people when you can just spear-fish from a sea of idiots desperate to cheat a game or earn crypto without effort?

Researchers are calling out this mess as part of a wider trend — malware distribution via short-form video. Because we needed yet another reason to run screaming from social media’s flaming dumpster fire. The malware’s lineage is the usual flavor of info-stealing crap: Raccoon, Vidar, and whatever other rodent-themed wreckage the underground can vomit up. In short: click on dumb-ass links, end up screwed, your data gone, and your PC reduced to a malware distribution hub, congrats!

So yeah — if you believe downloading random fix tools or cheats from TikTok is a good idea, you deserve every byte of ransomware that comes your way. The rest of us will be sitting here cleaning up your digital mess, grumbling into the void.

Anecdote time: Reminds me of the time some genius in accounting asked me to “unlock” their laptop because they’d “installed a security upgrade from a TikTok link.” I told them no problem, I’d unlock it right after I finish formatting the entire hard drive with a flamethrower.
