Samsung Galaxy S25 Gets its Digital Ass Handed to It at Pwn2Own Ireland 2025
Well, guess what, folks? The shiny, overpriced slab of silicon and marketing fluff known as the Samsung Galaxy S25 got absolutely steamrolled at this year’s Pwn2Own Ireland. On just the second bloody day, a pack of cyber wizards turned this so-called “flagship” into a glorified paperweight by exploiting a *baseband vulnerability* faster than Samsung could roll out another pointless firmware update no one asked for.
Oh, and it wasn’t just the S25 getting its ego shattered — other big-named gadgets also took their turns being humiliated, all in the name of “research” (translation: showing the manufacturers how laughably fragile their million-dollar security departments really are). The hackers pocketed tens of thousands in prize money while Samsung presumably started filling out HR forms to find someone to blame for this flaming shitshow.
So, to summarize: another year, another Pwn2Own, another fancy-ass phone gets its cybertrousers pulled down in public. Maybe next year these tech giants will figure out that “secure by design” doesn’t mean “hope for the best and pray nobody’s smarter than your dev team.” But knowing them? We’ll be right back here again, watching more “unhackable” garbage go down faster than a cheap router under a DDoS attack.

Funny thing — reminds me of when some bright spark thought it’d be a great idea to “test” our office VPN by brute forcing it from the inside. He said it was just “curiosity.” I said, “curiosity is what gets you reset to guest access and assigned printer maintenance duty for eternity.”
