Automate with Microsoft 365 Copilot App Builder and Workflows agents

Microsoft 365 Copilot App Builder: Automate All the Bloody Things!

So, let me get this straight — Microsoft has dragged its Copilot out of the corporate dungeon again and slapped on a new shiny hat called “App Builder and Workflow Agents.” Apparently, the idea is to make automation so simple that even that one guy in accounting who still prints his emails can whip up an app to “boost productivity.” Yeah right. Like giving everyone the keys to an AI-powered chaos machine won’t end in a flaming dumpster of Power Automate spaghetti code.

The article drones on (because of course it does) about how this latest Copilot thing will let users drag, drop, and mumble vague instructions at an AI to create business automations without learning any of that scary “coding” voodoo. There’s talk of using Microsoft 365 data, connectors, and all sorts of fancy crap that *theoretically* means less manual work. But we all know what this really means: more poorly built, half-broken automations that the IT department will have to clean up after some overenthusiastic intern “optimizes” email workflows and accidentally nukes the shared mailbox.

They also mention “agents” that can be built to act on behalf of users, doing repetitive tasks or managing workflows. Oh joy, because what we absolutely need are more chatty AI entities running around SharePoint pretending to be useful while secretly eating CPU cycles and generating infinite loop hell in Teams messages. Can’t wait for that ticket storm.

In short — Microsoft’s dream is to turn everyone into a wannabe IT genius by giving them AI duct tape for every business problem imaginable. Meanwhile, I’ll be the poor bastard stuck explaining for the hundredth time why their “automated report bot” is spamming all of HR with performance reviews from 2019. Bloody brilliant.

Signoff: Reminds me of the time some bright spark decided to automate server reboots “after hours.” The idiot forgot what timezone the servers were in — and the whole damn region went down at 2 p.m. on a Monday. I laughed until I cried. And then I blamed the intern. As always.
