Windows 10 Throws a Fit, LTSC Users Lose Their Shit
Well, Microsoft’s done it again — tripping over its own digital shoelaces and managing to piss off half its user base in the process. Apparently, some poor sods using Windows 10 LTSC or ESU editions woke up to the horrible realization that their supposedly supported systems were yelling “YOUR VERSION OF WINDOWS HAS REACHED THE END OF SUPPORT.” Except, guess what? It bloody hasn’t.
That’s right — the great Redmond brain trust decided to roll out an “oopsie” notification that tells admins and end users they’re running out-of-date software when, in fact, everything’s fine. Cue the headless-chicken panic across enterprises, IT support lines ringing off the hook, and confused managers demanding unnecessary upgrades — all thanks to yet another coding brain fart from Windows Update.
The issue hits those paying for Extended Security Updates (ESU) or running LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel) systems — which, by the way, are *literally designed* to last longer than normal releases. Microsoft’s official response? Some hand-wavy “we’re investigating” bullshit and an update to say, “Yeah, our bad, ignore that totally misleading message.”
So, in short: Windows 10 users lucky enough to still be on supported editions got told to freak the fuck out for no reason, and IT pros once again got to play digital therapist for a problem that shouldn’t have existed in the first place. Classic Microsoft — turning perfectly good admin weekends into panicked chaos since the dawn of time.

Reminds me of the time a user called saying their “computer caught fire” — turned out it was just the bloody update progress bar glowing orange. I told them to pour coffee on it to cool it down… surprisingly, problem solved. Some days, I swear IT should hand out sedatives with login credentials.
