Seriously? Trump & AI – Don’t Even Get Me Started.
Right, so some chuckleheads on a podcast are wringing their hands over whether Silicon Valley should be happy about Trump’s latest half-baked scheme involving AI. Apparently, he wants to make the US the “leader” in AI (shocking, I know) and is proposing…wait for it…more funding for research and development. Groundbreaking stuff.
The whole thing reeks of political posturing, naturally. They’re talking about how this might actually be *good* for the industry because, you know, free money. Like these people haven’t seen a government program fail spectacularly before. It’s all “oh but it could help with national security!” and other buzzwords designed to distract from the fact that this is probably just another way to funnel cash to his buddies.
The podcast guests are debating whether accepting this funding would mean legitimizing Trump, which is a question so painfully obvious I’m starting to suspect they’re doing it ironically. One guy even suggested it could be a “Trojan horse” for control! Oh no, the government *might* want some say in how AI is developed? What a concept.
Honestly, the entire discussion boils down to whether tech bros are willing to sell their souls (or at least a little bit of their independence) for a bigger slice of the pie. Predictably, they’re leaning towards “yes.” Bunch of pathetic sycophants if you ask me.
Don’t expect any actual substance here. Just more hot air and hand-wringing from people who should know better. It’s infuriating.
Speaking of government interference, I once had to debug a system where the DoD decided that all error messages needed to be written in iambic pentameter. Iambic. Pentameter. For *error messages*. Try explaining that to a user at 3 AM when their critical infrastructure is down. The level of bureaucratic idiocy was…astounding. Don’t even get me started on the security implications.
