Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 11 22H2 in October

Microsoft’s Latest Bullshit

Seriously? Another Windows Update to Deal With.

Oh, joy. Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom (read: relentless pursuit of forcing upgrades), is officially kicking Windows 11 version 22H2 to the curb on October 10th, 2023. That means no more security updates after that date. None. Zip. Nada.

If you’re still clinging to 22H2 – and frankly, who isn’t at this point? – you *need* to upgrade to version 23H2. They’ll be “nagging” you with notifications, because apparently they don’t trust you to know what’s good for your own system. It’s not like you have anything better to do than spend all day fiddling with their half-baked operating system.

Home and Pro users get a grace period until January 2024, but Enterprise folks are getting the short end of the stick – they need to be upgraded by October. Of course. Because *their* time is less valuable.

And if you’re on some obscure version? Well, good luck with that. You’re basically a security risk walking around at this point. Don’t come crying to me when your system gets pwned.

Honestly, it’s just another reminder that Windows is less an operating system and more a constantly shifting target of planned obsolescence. They *want* you upgrading. It’s all about the money, people! Don’t let them tell you otherwise.

Speaking of forced upgrades, I once had a user who refused to upgrade from Windows XP. XP! Said it “just worked.” After months of pleading and warnings, their system got hit with ransomware. They lost everything. Serves ’em right, honestly. Some people just need to learn the hard way.
