An AI Dark Horse Is Rewriting the Rules of Game Design (and Making Everyone Panic)
Right, so here’s the bloody gist of it — Tencent, that gigantic tech monstrosity from China with more money than sense, has apparently decided to replace hordes of game artists with some fancy-pants AI tool that can crank out 3D models faster than you can say “redundancy letter.” They’re basically automating creativity now, because why pay actual humans when you can have an algorithm do the soul-crushing work for you while you sip your artisanal coffee and count profits.
This new tool of theirs, which sounds like a nightmare with code, can generate detailed 3D models in seconds — stuff that normally takes skilled artists days or weeks. The AI’s gobbling up training data like a demented Pac-Man, analyzing millions of shapes and styles until it can spit out whatever dragon, gun, or space station your overworked designer can conceive. Great news if you’re a soulless exec who hates payroll. Terrible news if you’re that poor bastard still hand-painting concept art because “AI can’t do emotion.” Ha! Guess again, Picasso!
Naturally, everyone’s losing their collective shit about this. The tech world’s either fawning over Tencent’s “innovation” or crying that creativity’s officially dead. Either way, the end is nigh for anyone who doesn’t want to spend their life checking textures for errors generated by an overcaffeinated neural net. The future of gaming: built by code, managed by accountants, and designed to remind human artists how replaceable they really are. Lovely stuff.
Anyway, Tencent swears this isn’t about job cuts, just “efficiency.” Yeah, and I swear I’m not rebooting your machine remotely while you’re in the middle of a spreadsheet. Pull the other one, it’s got bloody LEDs on it.

Reminds me of the time I let an automated script “optimize” the server cluster – it optimized all right, straight into a smoking crater of downtime. Turns out machines are just as stupid as humans, only faster at ruining your day.
