Ukrainian Hacker Caught Being a Dumbass and Helping Russian Hacktivists
So, apparently, one particularly bright spark in Ukraine decided it’d be a great idea to help Russian hacktivist groups stir up even more cyber-chaos. Yeah, you heard that right—a Ukrainian hacker named Vladyslav Skliar, the digital equivalent of a wet piece of cardboard, just got slapped with charges for assisting Russia’s cyber-muppets. Because nothing screams “loyalty” like helping the other side mess with your own country and half the bloody internet.
Our boy Skliar allegedly provided credentials from hacked accounts to Russian gangs like “CyberArmyofRussia_Reborn.” Basically, he was the go-to vending machine for login details—press a few buttons and get access to someone else’s crap. The FBI and DOJ didn’t take kindly to that, and now they’ve got him nailed faster than a dodgy server running an unpatched PHP CMS.
He faces up to 20 years in the slammer because apparently “collaborating with digital assholes during wartime” isn’t exactly encouraged. The guy faces charges under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, which is the legal equivalent of being smacked across the chops with a solid steel keyboard.
