Oh, Joy. Another Cyberattack.
Right, listen up, you lot. Orange, that massive French telecom company? Yeah, they got hit with a cyberattack. Shocking, isn’t it? Like finding water is wet. Apparently, some “unauthorized access” happened back in early May, and they’re only just now admitting it. Typical.
They’re being deliberately vague about what exactly was stolen – because *of course* they are. They say customer data might have been compromised, but haven’t specified what kind. Probably everything, let’s be real. They’ve reset passwords for some users as a “precaution,” which is corporate-speak for “we screwed up royally and don’t want to tell you the full extent of the damage.”
No ransomware was used, thankfully – though honestly, at this point, I’d almost prefer that. At least with ransomware there’s a clear ask. This is just… messy. They claim it wasn’t a massive breach, but who knows? They’re probably downplaying it to avoid lawsuits and PR nightmares.
The investigation is ongoing, which means more delays, more obfuscation, and ultimately, not much useful information for anyone except their lawyers. Honestly, the whole thing reeks of incompetence. Seriously, you’re a *telecom giant*. You should have this shit locked down tighter than Fort Knox.

And a story for ya…
Reminds me of this time I had to rebuild a server farm after some intern decided it was a good idea to use “password” as the root password. Password! Can you believe it? I swear, sometimes I think humanity is actively trying to self-destruct. And these companies are just making it easier for them. Don’t even get me started on their security practices…it’s pathetic.
