ChatGPT Opens an App Store – Because Why the Hell Not?
So, apparently, the digital overlords at OpenAI decided that managing one omnipotent chatbot wasn’t enough – now they’ve gone and built a bloody App Store for ChatGPT. Yeah, because what the internet truly needed was another damn store pretending to be “open for developers.” It’s their shiny new way to lure coders, hustlers, and “AI entrepreneurs” into making tiny plugins, apps, and whatever other gimmicky crap they can dream up — all powered by ChatGPT.
This new “store” (read: money printer) lets devs hawk their wares to curious users while OpenAI plays power-hungry landlord, deciding what’s “approved” and siphoning off a cut like a damn digital mafia. And of course, they’ve branded it as “empowerment” and “innovation.” Yeah, right. It’s empowerment when they get your data, your cash, and your soul, all bundled neatly in a Terms of Service you’ll never actually read.
They’re trying to sell it as a revolutionary ecosystem — ChatGPT with plug-ins, companions, and extensions. You know, the same way every other tech giant said “we’re democratizing access” before slamming on the velvet paywall of doom. The kicker? Devs now get a platform to “reach users directly.” Translation: compete in a swamp of half-baked AI widgets until one gets bought out or banned for using the wrong emoji in a prompt.
So yeah — the future of “AI productivity” is now apparently an app store run by an AI that writes poetry about efficiency while silently judging your data footprint. Glorious. Can’t wait for the wave of “AI girlfriend” plugins and “prompt optimization coaches” to flood the damn feed.

Reminds me of the time some idiot intern decided to “innovate” our server room by rewriting the backup script in Python. Killed every backup job for a week and took down billing. But sure, genius, let’s automate more stuff with “apps.” Worked out bloody great last time too.
