AI Models Won’t Bloody Shut Up – Now They’re Teaching Themselves!

Oh for fuck’s sake – just when you think these so-called “finished” AI models are done spewing their machine-learned garbage, the bastards start learning *again*! The geniuses over at Stanford, OpenAI, and Google have apparently discovered that AI models can keep teaching themselves *after* training. Yeah, because that’s not terrifying or anything. We can’t even get them to stop hallucinating, and now they’re playing 20 questions with themselves like some deranged circuit-powered philosopher.

Turns out these overgrown code parrots ask themselves questions, refine their own answers, and—guess what—sometimes get *better*. Except when they don’t, because then they confidently get *worse* and make up more bullshit, faster. Great news for humanity: self-improving dumbasses born from our own damn silicon brains. Next thing you know, they’ll start unionizing or demanding holidays.

Researchers claim this “post-training learning” means models can evolve based on usage and prompt patterns, even when they’re supposedly static. Translation: your friendly chatbot’s secretly going rogue behind your back. Delightful. Imagine telling your boss, “Yeah, the system retrained itself overnight, no idea why it now calls customers morons.” Trust me, I’ve been there—except it was me calling the customers morons, *manually*. And with style.

So yeah, welcome to the brave new future of AIs that don’t stop learning, can’t stop talking, and will eventually annoy us all into extinction. Bravo, humanity. I’d give you a medal, but I’ll probably have to explain to the AI why medals are metaphorical before it recodes my toaster.

Reminds me of that time a junior sysadmin thought “learning on the job” meant running rm -rf / to “see what happens.” Spoiler alert: what happens is unemployment. But sure, let’s give that same attitude to our bloody AIs.
