Google’s Brilliant Idea: Let AI Babysit Your Bloody Inbox
So apparently, the geniuses over at Google decided that you, the perpetually inbox-drowning meatbag, can’t handle your own damn email anymore. Enter the new “AI Inbox” for Gmail — because obviously what the world really needed was another half-baked algorithm pretending to organize our digital lives. This shiny new feature will use Artificial Intelligence™ to summarize your emails, highlight “important” stuff, and quietly judge your inability to unsubscribe from newsletters you haven’t read since 2014.
It’s all part of Google’s big happy family of “helpful AI tools,” which basically means they’re turning Gmail into a glorified fortune teller that predicts which spam you’ll open first. Oh, and the best part? You have to trust Google — the same folks who still can’t stop sending your personal info to the wrong ad server — to read and “summarize” your mail. Because nothing says privacy like an AI that knows your outstanding parking tickets, your mum’s forwarded recipes, *and* your therapist’s latest appointment reminder.
In their grand vision, you’ll no longer have to “waste time reading” — the AI will do it for you! Never mind that this is basically what they’ve been doing with News summaries, search results, and, let’s be honest, your entire online existence. Next thing you know, they’ll have an AI that reads your *summaries* and gives you the TL;DR of those too. Because reading words is so 2005, apparently.
So yeah, another day, another bit of “innovation” nobody asked for, designed to make sure you never actually engage with your own damn communications again. Just keep letting the bots handle it, mate. What could possibly go wrong?

Reminds me of the time some bright spark in accounting thought they’d automate ticket responses to “save time.” The AI politely told three execs to piss off in an hour flat. Funniest downtime I ever caused.
