AI’s Hacking Skills Are Approaching an ‘Inflection Point’ — And We’re All Basically Screwed

Right, so apparently the geniuses at Wired have decided to remind us that AI is now getting so bloody good at hacking that it’s about to hit some so-called “inflection point.” Translation: these overgrown autocomplete machines are about to start breaking into systems faster than your average caffeine-deprived intern can type “Oops.”

The article moans on about how security researchers are both terrified and fascinated as AIs go from “helpful assistants” to “digitally deranged burglars.” Once upon a time, AI couldn’t crack a password unless it was “1234” or “password,” but now these synthetic bastards are getting creative — finding vulnerabilities, generating working exploits, and basically doing everything short of kicking down your firewall’s front door and setting your security logs on fire.

Experts are wringing their hands, saying we’re entering a phase where offensive and defensive AI will go toe-to-toe — like two robots playing whack-a-mole with human panic as the soundtrack. It’s the usual cyber arms race, only this time the machines are doing the coding while we pretend we’re still in control. Good luck with that, humanity. Seriously, get your collective shit together — or at least stop training Skynet 2.0 to pick locks and steal lunch money.

As for companies? They’ll keep saying “We’re using AI responsibly,” right before their customer database shows up in the darkest, dankest corner of the internet. Oh, brilliant plan. Let’s automate hacking but slap “ethical” on it — what could possibly go wrong?
