YouTube’s Latest Brainfart: AI Doppelgängers for Shorts
Oh for f***’s sake, YouTube’s back at it again — this time with some “revolutionary” crap letting creators make Shorts using their own bloody AI likeness. Because apparently filming a 15-second clip in your pajamas is just too much effort these days. Now creators can let synthetic versions of themselves churn out content while they sip overpriced lattes and pretend it’s the future of creation. Marvelous.
So here’s the deal: YouTube thinks it’s clever — they’ll let creators make “AI-generated” Shorts that look and sound suspiciously like them, only without the inconvenience of, you know, being human. Supposedly, it’ll be super “empowering” and “innovative.” Right. Like turning yourself into a digital clone that can crank out low-effort garbage for the algorithm is some kind of artistic enlightenment. What it really means is even more bloody spam clogging the feed, this time courtesy of your digital evil twin.
Naturally, YouTube swears it’s all safe, transparent, and full of creative freedom blah-blah-blah… but we all know what this really means — an endless cyber circus of uncanny valley clones trying to peddle fake personalities. Perfect. Because what the internet really needed was more fake influencers and AI-generated narcissism.
In short? YouTube wants you to clone yourself so your AI doppelgänger can perform for strangers while you lie in bed pretending to be productive. What could possibly go wrong? Oh right — everything.

Reminds me of the time some idiot asked me to automate his job — so I did. Didn’t tell him the “AI” I set up was just a cron job that emailed “Working hard!” every hour. Bastard didn’t notice for three months. Good luck to all the creators out there getting replaced by their own bloody clones.
