CISA Orders Removal of Unsupported Edge Devices to Reduce Federal Network Risk

CISA Loses Its Shit Over Old Edge Garbage

So, here’s the deal — CISA, those government overlords of cybersecurity panic, just told every bloody federal agency to yank out the old Microsoft Edge (a.k.a. “Chromium Edge”) from any machine that’s still running an unsupported version. Why? Because apparently, letting outdated browsers linger like digital mold attracts every hacker and their script-kiddie cousin. Shocking, right? Who would’ve guessed that running obsolete software is a bad idea. Mind blown.

According to the shiny memo, agencies have until mid-March to delete this festering garbage or risk being yeeted off the federal network compliance list. Basically, CISA’s waving the big stick saying, “Upgrade or else, you lazy bastards.” They even tossed in the usual “this is to protect critical infrastructure” spiel, which is bureaucrat-speak for “We’re tired of cleaning up your shit when ransomware hits.”

Microsoft, of course, already ended support months ago, but some geniuses out there apparently missed the memo — probably the same people who still click on “FREE GIFT CARD” emails. Now Uncle Sam’s had enough and is making everyone toss the outdated browser before it becomes the next security dumpster fire.

In short, patch your damn systems, stop clinging to software corpses, and maybe — just maybe — read an email from IT before you blow up national security next time. Jesus wept.

Signoff: Reminds me of that time some muppet ran an ancient version of Internet Explorer on a production server because “it still worked.” Yeah, it worked right up until it hosted more malware than a 2002 LimeWire account. Idiots.
