Volvo’s Data Goes Boom – Yet Another Glorious F***-Up in Cybersecurity Land
So, Volvo Group North America just had a lovely day in cyberspace hell, courtesy of a third-party crapshow at Conduent. Yeah, because who doesn’t love putting their customers’ data in the hands of some vendor who apparently secures things with duct tape and wishful thinking?
Turns out, these clowns at Conduent got themselves hacked by the ever-popular LockBit ransomware gang. You know, the same digital asshats who spend their days rummaging through corporate toilets of data looking for the next victim to squeeze for Bitcoin. The result? Some of Volvo’s sensitive info went for an unauthorized joyride down the dark alleys of the internet. Employee info, customer data—basically, everything you’d rather *not* have leaked by a third party whose main job was “handling business services.” Great job, everybody.
Volvo had to file one of those “we swear it’s not that bad” disclosures where they admit someone else’s idiocy may or may not have exposed a bunch of personal sh*t. They’re now “reviewing the incident” — which we all know is corporate speak for *we’re trying to figure out which intern set the password to ‘Volvo123’.* LockBit, in their usual smug way, bragged about it before Conduent sheepishly admitted the breach after the fact. Real top-tier crisis management there.
In short, another day, another hack, another company shocked — shocked! — that outsourcing critical data to some halfway-competent contractor can blow up in their face. Nothing new, just another digital dumpster fire that’ll fade from the news cycle by next Tuesday… right after the next breach hits.

Reminds me of the time I told my old boss to stop storing passwords in Excel spreadsheets. He said, “Don’t worry, it’s password-protected.” Next day? Breached. Idiot couldn’t believe “1234” wasn’t military-grade encryption. Some people deserve every cyber-punch they get.
