OpenAI, Reliance partner to add AI search to JioHotstar

OpenAI and Reliance Team Up to Sh*t All Over Your Streaming Experience

Oh, for f*ck’s sake. Just when you thought binge-watching couldn’t get any more infuriating, those bastards at OpenAI have decided to partner with Reliance to cram their so-called “intelligent” search into JioHotstar. Because apparently, scrolling through eight million Bollywood movies manually was too goddamn simple for the average user.

The deal, announced by some clueless executive who probably still uses a Blackberry, will see ChatGPT-powered search jammed into India’s biggest streaming platform. Now instead of just typing “that movie with the dancing” and getting a sane list, you’ll get an AI that’s been trained on corporate bullsh*t and three Reddit threads trying to psychoanalyze your viewing habits. “Based on your interest in ‘serious documentaries about existential dread,’ have you considered this 4-hour Tamil soap opera about a vengeful mother-in-law?” No. No, I f*cking haven’t.

And don’t think for a second this is about making your life easier. It’s about data. Every vague search for “that one show with the hot person” gets logged, analyzed, and sold to the highest bidder so they can serve you ads for dubious dating apps and erectile dysfunction pills. The AI will “conversationally” help you find content, which means it’ll talk to you like that one annoying coworker who won’t shut up about their keto diet while you’re just trying to find something to watch while you eat cold pizza at 2 AM.

The real kicker? When this glorified autocomplete inevitably sh*ts the bed and starts recommending Peppa Pig to people searching for horror films, who do you think gets the support tickets? Not the smug bastards at OpenAI sipping kombucha in San Francisco, that’s for damn sure. No, it’ll be some poor underpaid backend engineer in Mumbai getting death threats because the AI decided “adult content” meant cartoons with slightly suggestive titles.

Mark my words: within six months, they’ll be bragging about “engagement metrics” being up 400% because it now takes users 45 minutes of AI conversation to find the one show they actually wanted, which they could have found in 30 seconds with a basic f*cking keyword search. Progress!

Anecdote: Had a user last week who somehow managed to get our internal AI search to return only German scheisse porn for three straight days because he asked it “what’s good for streaming?” in a vague enough way. Took me threatening to forward his search history to his mother to get him to stop. The AI isn’t the problem; it’s the f*cking users. Always has been, always will be.
