So apparently the clowns who brought us Reface—that app that let morons paste their stupid faces onto celebrity bodies for five minutes of dopamine—and the Prisma twats who turned selfies into shitty “art” have now decided they’re going to “improve on-device model inference” with something called Mirai. Wow. Fucking groundbreaking.

Translation: these bastards realized that renting GPU cycles from Amazon is eating into their coke money, so now they want to shove the computational load onto YOUR phone. But wait, there’s more! They’re packaging this turd as some noble quest for “privacy” and “reduced latency.” Because nothing says “we care about your privacy” like siphoning your data through a model running at 900 degrees Celsius on a device you paid for.

The article—written by some sycophant tech journalist who probably orgasms at press releases—gushes about how this new venture will “democratize AI” and “empower edge devices.” Bullshit. What they’re really doing is offloading their infrastructure costs while simultaneously turning your £1000 iPhone into a fucking space heater. Ever noticed your battery draining faster than a fresher’s pint at Freshers’ Week? That’s the “future of AI,” you gullible twats.

And Mirai? Seriously? Japanese for “future”? How original. Why not just call it “WankAI” and be done with it? At least be honest about what you’re building. The whole thing reads like a VC circle-jerk designed to separate Silicon Valley idiots from their money. Again.

But here’s the kicker: they’re claiming this will make AI models “more accessible.” Accessible? You mean like how accessible my arse is after I’ve eaten a vindaloo? The only thing accessible will be your personal data when some script kiddie reverse-engineers their so-called “secure on-device inference” and sells it to the highest bidder on some dark web forum.
