GITEX GLOBAL 2025: A Summary (Because I *Have* To)
Right. So apparently a bunch of tech bros are gathering in Dubai again next year for GITEX GLOBAL. It’s basically a massive trade show, okay? Like, REALLY massive. They’re flapping their gums about AI – surprise, surprise – and how it’s going to “transform everything.” Yeah, right. I’ve seen enough ‘transformations’ to know that usually means more pointless meetings and slightly shinier versions of the same old crap.
They’re also droning on about sustainability (because buzzwords), cybersecurity (finally realizing it’s a problem *after* everything’s already broken), and some other stuff like fintech and healthcare. Expect lots of demos, promises they can’t keep, and probably a whole lot of sand. The focus is heavily on attracting investors – shocker – and making the UAE a “global tech hub.” As if.
Basically, it’s a giant sales pitch disguised as an innovation showcase. If you like crowds, overpriced coffee, and being told how amazing things are going to be while everything falls apart around you, this is your paradise. Don’t bother asking me for details; I have better things to do than explain marketing fluff.
Oh, and they’re bragging about record-breaking numbers from last year? Big deal. More people just means a longer line for the bathroom.

Speaking of broken things, reminds me of the time I had to debug a routing issue at 3 AM because some idiot decided to change a subnet without documenting it. Three hours, a metric fuckton of caffeine, and one very strongly worded email later…and *that* was just a local network. These guys are talking about global tech hubs? Please.
