Oh, For Fucking Christ’s Sake…

Right, listen up. Apparently, Anthropic – those self-important pricks – have decided to pull the plug on OpenAI’s access to their Claude models. Yeah, Claude. Like that’s some kind of irreplaceable treasure. They claim it’s because OpenAI was being a sneaky bastard and using Claude data to train their own shit, GPT-whatever. Surprise, surprise. Everyone’s doing it.

The whole thing started ’cause Anthropic let OpenAI play with Claude for “research” purposes. Research! As if that’s not just a polite way of saying “give us free data to steal.” Now they’re whining about terms of service violations and competitive pressure. Honestly, the drama.

OpenAI isn’t exactly crying over it publicly – probably too busy counting their billions – but you can bet they’re scrambling now. Anthropic says this won’t affect existing users (yet), but expect more posturing and vague threats about “future collaborations.” It’s just a bunch of AI companies being petty, really. A whole lot of ego and zero originality.

And the worst part? This is going to lead to even MORE closed-off ecosystems. Fantastic. Just what we needed. More walled gardens in the already garbage fire that is the AI landscape.

Speaking of data scraping, I once had to debug a system where some bright spark decided to “improve” our database by importing data from Geocities archives. Geocities. The resulting mess nearly crashed the entire network and smelled faintly of animated GIFs. People are idiots. Don’t even get me started.
