Right, so OpenAI is still flailing around trying to build an AI that’s basically a digital butler for the terminally lazy. This article details their “AGI Roadmap” – which translates to “we have no fucking clue what we’re doing but are throwing money at it anyway.” They’re obsessed with ‘general intelligence’, meaning an AI that can handle *any* task you throw at it, without needing specialized training for each one. Like a goddamn Swiss Army knife of uselessness.

Apparently, they’ve realized scaling up existing models isn’t enough – shocker! So now they’re focusing on “world models” (AI trying to simulate reality… because that didn’t go horribly wrong last time), better reasoning skills (still sucks, by the way), and some kind of ‘recursive improvement’ loop where the AI designs its own upgrades. Sounds like a recipe for Skynet, honestly.

They’re also trying to make it understand *intent*. Because apparently telling an AI “write me a poem” isn’t specific enough for these geniuses. They want it to read your mind or something. And of course, they need more data. Always more fucking data. Like the problem is lack of information and not fundamentally flawed architecture.

The whole thing is just a bunch of hand-waving about future possibilities while conveniently glossing over the fact that current AI still hallucinates facts and can’t reliably order a pizza without causing an international incident. Don’t hold your breath for this ‘do anything’ AI, people. It’s going to be another decade of disappointment, guaranteed.
