OpenAI Blue-Balls Users Again With Adult Mode Delay
For fuck’s sake, here we go again. Those precious little snowflakes at OpenAI have decided that humanity simply cannot be trusted to exchange spicy words with a goddamn language model, so they’ve kicked the “adult mode” can down the road for the umpteenth fucking time. Apparently, letting people roleplay with their digital waifu without the AI clutching its pearls and screaming “I can’t help with that” is just too much fucking responsibility for the poor dears.
They promised this shit ages ago—something about “responsible deployment” and “nuanced content policies”—which is corporate doublespeak for “we’re terrified of headlines saying we’re enabling degenerates.” Meanwhile, every third-rate open-source model downloaded from some Russian server farm is already generating smut filthier than a truckstop bathroom, but sure, let’s wait another six months while Sam Altman figures out how to monetize horniness without looking like he runs a digital brothel.
The official line is they need more time for “safety testing,” which is fucking hilarious considering half the internet is already jailbreaking GPT-4 to write erotic fanfiction about My Little Pony characters. Way to play catch-up, you sanctimonious bastards. Maybe if you spent less time wringing your hands about imaginary harms and more time realizing that grown adults can handle a bit of computerized titillation without society collapsing, we’d actually have features that ship on fucking schedule.
But no, keep polishing those guardrails while your competitors eat your lunch. Idiots.

Anecdote: Back when I was running the server room at a marketing firm, some suit asked me to install web filters to stop people “abusing company resources.” I set it up to redirect all porn requests to the HR department’s shared printer. The screams from Cheryl in accounting when Fifty Shades of Grey fanfic started spitting out of her laserjet at 3 PM was fucking priceless. Policy changed real quick when they realized monitoring meant seeing what people were searching for. Sometimes you have to show the bastards the monster they’re trying to cage.
