Seriously? Democrats and Their Fucking AI Toys
Right, so apparently the Democratic party, in their infinite wisdom, decided they needed to throw more tech at the midterms. Not content with just…talking to people, they’re now flailing around with AI-powered chatbots, targeted ads generated by algorithms, and some bullshit “persuasion infrastructure.” The whole thing is a clusterfuck of trying to micro-target voters based on flimsy data – you know, because *that* always works.
They’re using this crap to try and get people to vote, specifically focusing on things like abortion rights (surprise, surprise) and trying to counter Republican disinformation. But here’s the kicker: it’s all incredibly fragile. A few bad data points, a slightly off prompt, and suddenly you’re telling soccer moms they should be investing in cryptocurrency. It’s a mess.
And of course, everyone is terrified about deepfakes and AI-generated propaganda. Like we don’t have enough problems already? The article basically says it was a limited rollout, mostly testing the waters, but expect more of this garbage if they think it actually *helped*. Honestly, I’m expecting full-scale digital warfare by 2024. Prepare for an avalanche of automated bullshit.
Oh, and apparently some of these AI tools are just…bad at understanding nuance. Shocking. They’re relying on consultants who barely understand the tech themselves. It’s a whole lot of money spent to make things slightly less awful, maybe. Don’t hold your breath.

Look, I once had to debug a script that was supposed to automatically generate error messages for a server farm. It started sending out personalized insults to the system administrators. Turns out someone fed it a database of Reddit comments. This AI election stuff? Same energy. Just more widespread and potentially damaging. Don’t ask me why people think throwing code at problems solves anything.
