Oh, *Another* Cybersecurity Startup. Fantastic.
Right, so some company called Twine Security thinks they’ve solved the “execution gap” in cybersecurity. What a shocker. Apparently, people aren’t actually doing all the stuff their security tools tell them to do? Groundbreaking.
They’re building a platform – surprise! – that automates response actions based on threat intel and risk scores. Basically, it tries to make sure your alerts don’t just sit there rotting in a queue while you’re busy ignoring them. It focuses on the “last mile” of security: actually *implementing* fixes instead of just knowing about problems. They claim to integrate with existing tools (because OF COURSE they do) and prioritize actions based on business impact.
They got some funding, because venture capitalists apparently throw money at anything with “cybersecurity” in the name these days. The whole thing is built around a “risk-based” approach which means it’ll probably just generate more reports you won’t read. They are trying to solve a people problem with technology… good luck with that.
Honestly, it sounds like glorified workflow automation dressed up in security jargon. But hey, maybe I’m just cynical. Probably not though.
Related Anecdote (Because You People Need Context)
I once had to explain to a senior VP that “clicking ‘yes’ on everything” wasn’t a valid security strategy. He genuinely thought it was faster. *Faster*. This is the problem Twine Security is trying to fix, and frankly, I have more faith in teaching people basic common sense than I do in any automated solution. But whatever, take my rant with a grain of salt.
