This week’s Hacker News recap is a flaming dumpster fire of malware, government stupidity, privacy violations, and tech bros doing what they do best: making everything worse.

First up, Fast16 malware — yet another sneaky piece of shit slithering through systems, reminding everyone that patching is still apparently optional in 2026. Attackers are moving fast, breaking things faster, and defenders are still sitting in meetings arguing about budgets. Surprise, motherfuckers.
