Seriously? PwC Hired *Another* Executive
Right, so apparently PwC decided they needed to shuffle the deckchairs on the Titanic – I mean, their Cyber, Data & Technology Risk Platform. They’ve brought in Morgan Adamski, formerly of… wait for it… Goldman Sachs. Because clearly what cybersecurity needs is more finance people.
She’s supposed to be all about “growth” and “innovation” – buzzwords that mean absolutely nothing when the fundamental problem is still a crippling skills shortage and executives who don’t understand how things actually *work*. They’re talking about expanding their consulting services, which translates to “we want more money.” Shocking.
Apparently she’s got experience in “transformative change” – which I translate as “restructuring departments until they’re unrecognizable and everyone hates their jobs”. She’ll be working alongside Ryan Rivard, who is already there. More meetings, more powerpoint presentations, less actual security. Fantastic.
The whole thing reeks of corporate bullshit, honestly. They’re patting themselves on the back for a hire that probably involved a lot of money and very little vetting for technical competence. Don’t expect any miracles here, folks. Just more expensive reports telling you what you already know.
Look, I once had to explain to a VP why “the cloud” wasn’t just a fancy name for someone else’s computer. *That* was transformative change. This? This is just… ugh.
