Translation: an AI slurps up the transcript, chews on it like stale gum, and spits out something that sounds confident whether it’s right or not. Fantastic. What could possibly go wrong?

For creators, Spotify’s dangling the promise of “engagement” and “discovery,” which in corporate bullshit means: “We’re experimenting on your content, don’t break anything while we do.” The tools are optional (for now), AI-generated (of course), and framed as helpful, while quietly nudging podcasts closer to being searchable content sludge for algorithms to masturbate over.

Spotify swears this will make podcasts “more interactive” and “easier to explore.” Sure. Just like auto-play made music better and not an endless hell-loop of the same three overplayed tracks. Now instead of listening, users can skim AI summaries and feel smug about “consuming content” without actually paying attention. Progress, my ass.
