According to some leaked chats (because of course, it’s always leaked chats), REvil alleges FSB agents were involved in planning and executing the attack, supposedly as a way to pressure the US government. They even claim they were *set up* by Russia. Yeah, right. Convenient timing for them to start pointing fingers now that things are… less good for them.
The article points out this isn’t exactly new information; there’s been speculation about Russian state involvement since day one. But REvil actually *saying* it? That’s a special kind of pathetic, trying to deflect blame after getting their asses handed to them. They’re basically admitting they were puppets, just with extra steps and a lot more stolen data.
