Cloudflare Unleashes AI Agents, and I’m Already Tired of Your Shit

Cloudflare has launched an Agents SDK and the so‑called Flue framework, and yes, it’s yet another attempt to stop your half‑assed AI “agent” projects from exploding the moment a real user looks at them funny. This is Cloudflare basically saying: “Stop duct‑taping LLMs to cron jobs, you useless fucks, and do it properly.”

The Agents SDK is built on Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects, because of course it is. It gives you stateful AI agents that can actually remember shit, use tools, call APIs, store data, and run close to users without latency making them look brain‑dead. You get memory, tool calling, and integration with Cloudflare’s existing junk like R2, Vectorize, Queues, and whatever other shiny toys they’ve got lying around. In other words: production‑grade, not “demo on a slide deck” garbage.

Then there’s Flue, the orchestration framework for when one AI agent fucking things up isn’t enough and you need a whole swarm of them. Flue handles multi‑step workflows, retries, state transitions, and coordination between agents, so when something breaks (and it will), it doesn’t just shit the bed silently. It’s basically workflow glue for AI agents, because apparently humans can’t manage complexity without another damn framework.

Cloudflare’s big pitch here is “production readiness”. Security, isolation, scalability, observability — all the boring but necessary crap people ignore until 3 a.m. when PagerDuty starts screaming. This is Cloudflare telling enterprises, “Yes, you can run AI agents without setting your infrastructure on fire.” Whether your developers are competent enough to pull that off is another fucking question.

So yeah, if you want AI agents that don’t fall over, leak data, or rack up a cloud bill that makes accounting cry, Cloudflare’s Agents SDK and Flue are worth a look. If you just want hype and buzzwords, there are plenty of other vendors happy to take your money and laugh behind your back.
