Microsoft’s Clusterfuck of the Month: Windows 11 Updates, Again.

Oh joy. Microsoft *finally* acknowledged that their latest Windows 11 24H2 updates were failing for some users with a goddamn 0x80240069 error. Surprise, surprise. It turns out the issue was with some corrupted files in the update delivery infrastructure – basically, their servers are shitting the bed again. They’ve released a fix (KB5037792) to address it, and they’re also trying to auto-retry downloads for those who already got screwed. And of course, they blame “recent changes to Windows Update components” because admitting actual incompetence is *clearly* out of the question.

If you’re one of the unlucky souls staring at that error code, run Windows Update and hope for the best. Or don’t. Honestly, I wouldn’t bother. Just wait for it to break something else entirely. It’s Microsoft; expect failure. They’ve also released a fix for enterprise admins using WSUS – because *those* guys need extra hand-holding.

Seriously, they push out these updates like candy and then act shocked when things go sideways. It’s infuriating. I swear, if I had a nickel for every time Microsoft screwed up an update…

  Speaking of updates, I once had to roll back a server update at 3 AM because it decided the network card didn’t exist anymore. Three *hours* of troubleshooting and cursing before realizing Microsoft’s “improvement” bricked the entire thing. And you know what they said? “Please submit feedback.” Feedback?! I wanted to submit a strongly worded complaint involving several expletives and a request for someone competent to actually test their software.
