Seriously? More ChatGPT Bullshit.
Right, so OpenAI – yeah, those guys – are shoving their cheaper “ChatGPT Go” plan at another sixteen countries in Asia. Because apparently the world isn’t saturated enough with AI-generated drivel. They’re calling it “affordable,” which is hilarious considering it still costs money for something that mostly hallucinates and repeats itself.
It’s hitting places like Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and a bunch of others. Basically anywhere they think people will fall for the marketing hype. They’ve lowered the price to around $20/month in these regions, which is still twenty goddamn dollars for something that’ll probably just write you bad poetry and confidently assert incorrect facts.
The whole thing is framed as “democratizing access” – oh, how generous of them. It’s more like maximizing profit by exploiting new markets, let’s be real. They’re also trying to get around regulatory hurdles, naturally. Expect a lot of vague promises about safety and responsible AI development. It’ll all be fine, right? *Sure.*
They claim usage is up in the countries where they already launched this crap, so obviously people are just throwing money away. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Speaking of useless tech, I once had to debug a system where someone thought it was a good idea to use ChatGPT to generate the error messages. The resulting logs were just… existential dread in text form. “The machine feels your pain.” Seriously. It took me three days and an industrial amount of caffeine to fix that mess. Don’t trust AI, people. Just… don’t.
