Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and the Same Old Silicon Valley Shitshow
Alright, gather round, you beautiful disasters. The New Yorker drops a long, chewy exposé on Sam Altman—OpenAI’s shiny messiah with a PowerPoint smile—and right on cue, Elon “I Never Met a Grudge I Didn’t Love” Musk boosts the hell out of it on X. Because of course he does. The timing? Chef’s fucking kiss. Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI is rolling into court, and suddenly he’s like, “Hey everyone, look at this article that totally proves I’m right and everyone else is full of shit.”
The Wired piece lays it out: Musk is amplifying an article that paints Altman as a slick operator who talks big about saving humanity while steering OpenAI straight into the warm, profitable arms of Big Tech. Nonprofit my ass. The article dredges up all the old sins—power struggles, boardroom knife fights, mission drift, and the usual Silicon Valley bullshit where “ethics” means “whatever makes us look good this quarter.”
Musk, meanwhile, is posturing like the betrayed prophet, claiming OpenAI has gone from “open” to “closed as fuck,” all while raking in cash and cozying up to corporate overlords. He posts the link, stirs the pot, and lets his followers do the screaming. Is it about principle? Or is it about Elon being Elon and hating the idea that someone else is winning the AI dick-measuring contest? Spoiler: it’s probably both.
So here we are: billionaires throwing articles at each other like monkeys flinging shit, journalists watching their work become legal ammo, and the rest of us expected to believe this is all about the “future of humanity” and not egos the size of fucking planets.

Anyway, this whole mess reminds me of the time I watched two sysadmins nearly come to blows over who broke the production server—while the building was literally on fire. Same energy, more money, bigger lies. Now piss off, I’ve got logs to ignore.
