According to Dark Reading, AI is now the shiny object every cybersecurity vendor, investor, and executive is throwing money at like a bunch of caffeinated idiots at a casino. Everyone’s screaming “AI will save us!” while hurling cash at half-baked startups that barely have a working product, let alone something that actually stops attackers. Surprise: this is widening the so‑called “Valley of Death” — that lovely place where promising tech goes to fucking die.

Big companies want AI-powered security tools that magically fix everything, instantly, cheaply, and without hiring competent humans. Startups, meanwhile, are burning through funding trying to bolt AI buzzwords onto security platforms that enterprises don’t trust, don’t understand, and sure as hell won’t deploy at scale. The result? A massive gap between innovation and real-world adoption. Lots of demos, lots of hype, and fuck-all production value.
