Broadcom and Kyndryl Are Training Thousands for “AI-Ready” VMware, Because Apparently More Certifications Will Save the Fucking Day
Right, so here’s the gist of this little corporate love letter: Broadcom and Kyndryl have decided to train thousands of so-called “experts” to make VMware Cloud Foundation ready for AI workloads. Because obviously the answer to every messy enterprise problem is to throw a shitload of training, partnerships, and buzzwords at it until the invoices look impressive.
The big idea is that Kyndryl is ramping up its people so they can help customers deploy and manage VMware Cloud Foundation as the sacred foundation for private AI, hybrid cloud, and all the other expensive nonsense executives start drooling over when they hear “AI-ready.” Broadcom, meanwhile, gets to puff out its chest and pretend this is all about customer success rather than locking more poor bastards deeper into its ecosystem.
What they’re really pushing is VMware Cloud Foundation as the one-stop shop for modern infrastructure: compute, storage, networking, management, automation—the whole bloody stack. And now, because no press release can survive five minutes without chanting “AI,” they’re framing it as the platform to run AI workloads securely in private and hybrid environments. Translation: “Please keep spending money with us, but now with extra GPU-related panic.”
Kyndryl’s role in this circus is to provide the trained bodies, consulting, implementation, and managed services. So if your environment is already a tangled heap of legacy systems, cloud sprawl, compliance headaches, and management’s latest AI fever dream, Kyndryl wants to be the crew you pay to sort out the smoking wreckage. Broadcom, of course, supplies the software stack and the strategic messaging polished to a mirror shine by marketing gobshites.
The article’s core message is simple: enterprises want AI, but most of them have infrastructure held together with duct tape, wishful thinking, and underpaid admins who haven’t slept since the last migration. Broadcom and Kyndryl are betting that if they train enough people, they can turn VMware Cloud Foundation into the “trusted” platform for AI transformation. Trusted by whom is another fucking question entirely.
So the summary is this: Broadcom gets a stronger services and adoption story, Kyndryl gets to sell more enterprise transformation work, and customers get told that with enough certified staff and VMware plumbing, their data centers can become AI-ready miracle factories instead of the same old expensive server rooms with new stickers on them.
Personally, this reminds me of the time management declared our infrastructure “future-proof” after buying a stack of training vouchers and one absurdly overpriced box with blinking lights. Two months later, nobody knew how to use it, the consultant had vanished, and I was in the server room at 2 a.m. explaining to a director why “AI strategy” doesn’t mean plugging random shit into vCenter and praying. Same song, different bastards.
